Melina Amico knows the aftermarket needs more women in the field, and she is eager to be one of them. A resident of “Automation Alley” in southeast Michigan, Melina hails from a long line of automotive professionals. From grandparents who worked in the plants and on the line to the next generation of engineers, sales engineers and managers who worked in offices, Melina has been surrounded by the business all of her life.
While studying Automotive Aftermarket Management at Northwood University, Melina is making the most of her time by participating in the school’s Automotive Aftermarket and Sustainability clubs, working as a promotional specialist in the automotive field for Productions Plus Talent Agency and networking with industry leaders at auto shows. She’s been involved with AC Delco at the Woodward Dream Cruise, Jack Morton Chevrolet at the US Women’s’ Soccer Event at Ford Field and Ford Mustang at Michigan International Speedway.
A 2015 UAF $1,000 Scholarship recipient, Melina is passionate about learning all she can about the newest technology and trends in the industry so she can make a difference for future generations, just like her family did for her.
