Larry Pavey

President, Federated Auto Parts

Larry has spent his entire career in the automotive aftermarket. He actually began working for a jobber part time, while attending high school and college and then a warehouse distributor for two years after college before going to work for a manufacturer. Larry joined Walker Manufacturing, working in sales and progressed through the company in various sales management positions in several different markets. After six years Larry joined Echlin’s newly formed BWD division as the Midwest regional sales manager and later served as the Vice President of marketing for Borg Warner, Niehoff, and Whitaker brands. After Echlin acquired the assets of Raybestos Brakes in 1985 Larry moved over to the brake business and served in a variety of positions including V.P. of sales and marketing, general manager of aftermarket distribution and remanufacturing, and finally was named president of the Echlin’s Brake Parts Inc. in 1990.  With Larry at the helm, Echlin’s brake business made more than 20 acquisitions becoming the largest brake supplier in the aftermarket. In 1997 Larry was named President of Echlin’s North American Operations with responsibility for all aftermarket businesses. The following year Echlin was acquired by Dana Corporation and Larry became the President of Dana’s Under Vehicle Group where he served for the next six years with responsibility for the company’s $1.5B global under vehicle businesses.

After retiring from Dana Corporation Larry moved back to the distribution side of the businesses joining a former client, Federated Auto Parts. Federated is a marketing group representing 60 WD members serving over 3,000 stores nationwide.

Today Larry continues to serve as the President of the Federated Group and is still active in a number of industry associations and serves on several boards of directors. Through the years Larry has been active in many industry associations and initiatives including serving on the boards of ASE, AAPA, ASIA, AAIA, and MEMA and currently serves on the AWDA Board of Governors, ACA’s Government Affairs Committee, and is a Trustee of The University of the Aftermarket Foundation.
