Bret Jordan, CFA is a Managing Director covering the Automotive space. He has followed the automotive aftermarket since 1996 and was named 2010 “Top Stock Picker” by Thomson Reuters, received the Zacks Investment Research All-Star rating in the consumer sector and he has been named a Wall Street Journal “Best on the Street” analyst for specialty retail (auto parts).
Prior to joining Jefferies in June 2015, Bret directed the automotive aftermarket and dealership research platform at BB&T Capital Markets (‘12-‘15) having previously covered the space as the senior automotive analyst at Avondale Partners since ‘09. Prior to joining Avondale, Jordan spent four years with Delta Partners LLC, a fundamentally focused small and mid cap equity hedge fund, responsible for autos and global consumer products. Prior to Delta, from 1996 through 2003 Jordan was managing director and senior analyst covering the automotive aftermarket for Advest, Inc. and from 1993 to 1996 covered restaurants and specialty foods for John Hancock/Tucker Anthony’s institutional research effort.
Upon graduation from Skidmore College with dual major in government and business, Jordan entered the investment field and spent four years with The Boston Company Institutional Investors, Inc. beginning in 1987. Additionally, he received his MBA with a concentration in finance from the Isenberg School at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and is a CFA charterholder and member of the Association of Investment Management and Research (AIMR) and a the Boston Security Analysts Society.
